I recently shared 5 tools that make business easier, but today, I want to give you 5 of my favorite non-tech work supplies that make my life easier (and more enjoyable)!
1. Blue-light blocking glasses.
I had really bad eye strain in high school because I spent so much time looking at a screen to do my schoolwork. I would get headaches and red eyes and it was hard to focus when I had to do work on the computer. I got blue-light blocking glasses in college and they made a WORLD of difference! (That, and a retina-display computer—it did wonders to not have to work harder to clearly see what was on the screen.) You can get the glasses I use here—they’re a bit pricier than a lot of what you can find on Amazon, though. (I don’t think there were a lot of options to choose from when I needed to get them.) I know people who have gotten cheaper glasses on Amazon and they work just great!
2. Wrist rest.
Try saying that 10 times fast. 🙂 But seriously—I do a lot of typing and repetitive motions for work, and started getting some wrist pain early on. This wrist rest saved me from that getting worse! I don’t use it all the time (I should), but it has saved me from a lot of potential wrist pain!
3. Checklist notebook.
I used a planner for a while, but I usually don’t love planning my day out hour-by-hour. I’ve found that this checklist notebook works incredibly well—and I don’t waste space or resources! I love that it’s small, too—it doesn’t take up too much space in my bag when I’m working from a coffee shop!
4. These pens.
I love them. End of story.
But seriously—they’re smooth, thin, and comfortable! I’m always sad when I’ve moved mine and have to use another pen to jot something down.
5. These peppermint patties.
Yorks are good, but these peppermint patties from Trader Joe’s? INCREDIBLE. Plus, they’re sweetened with honey, so basically they’re healthy. Also, if you don’t have a Trader Joe’s nearby, I also found these on Amazon. I haven’t tried them, but they look like the same thing!
