Work smarter, not harder: here’s a quick list of the Chrome extensions I use on a regular basis.
WhatFont
Curious what fonts are on a webpage? This extension will tell you! I’ll be honest: most of the time, I use this because I’m curious. But it has also come in handy when I need to match collateral to a website and we haven’t received any branding information (rare, but it happens).
GoFullPage
Allows you to take a screenshot of the entire page and save it as an image or PDF. There are other options (and some that save the image to the cloud), but GoFullPage is my tried-and-true go-to for full-page screenshots!
Scribe
Creates SOPs by recording what you’re doing—and translating that into written directions + images (not video!). Scribe is super helpful if you want to document a process in your business but don’t want a video. (Website here)
Loom
Records a video of your screen + your voice (and you can have a video of yourself in the corner, too, to make it more personal!). Loom is what I used for the Canva tips video above. I use it often for client + team communication and to record SOPs! (Website here)
LastPass
Securely share passwords and other login information with your team! There are other options out there (1Password is a big one), but LastPass hides your password from being viewed by those you share it with. There are other ways around that if they *really* wanted to see your password (and LastPass has had security breaches in the past), but I’ve found it to be the best (and most affordable) option for password sharing. (Website here)
ColorZilla
To get hex codes of colors off webpages. Super helpful if you want to match collateral to a brand but don’t have the branding, or if you want to match a color palette and don’t have hex codes. (Amazing Color Picker is another option; it’s a little more clunky, but works!)
Grammarly
Catch those little grammatical errors. 😉 This also works in Canva, which doesn’t have it’s own spell-check system, and while the interface can be annoying, it’s super helpful to catch mistakes! (Website here)
I hope these Chrome extensions will serve you as well as they serve me! Comment with your favorites—and let me know if I missed any that you use all the time!
