Are you keeping your business boundaries?

Keeping your business boundaries so you can live the life you've always dreamed of | Hannah Allen Studio #businesstips #smallbusiness #selfcare

I recently mentioned to another business owner that I took Fridays off, and she responded with “I wish I could do that.” I’ve heard that from several people and here’s the thing: you can. If you eliminate the unnecessary tasks in your business and set good, healthy boundaries, you absolutely can take whatever day off you want to!

Does that mean you have to sacrifice some things? Yep.

Does that mean you have to work extra hard sometimes. Yeah.

Does that mean you have to get good at saying no? Absolutely.

But with a little planning & strategy and a lot of heart, you can take a three day weekend. Or take a day off in the middle of the week. Or only work 2 days a week. Or do whatever else you want to do because it’s your business

You didn’t become a business owner to be a slave to your computer again. Remind yourself of that—and do the work needed to live the life you’ve always dreamed of.

The biggest obstacle to creating your ideal week is not sticking to your boundaries. Did you tell people that you’re taking a day off, but always end up working anyway? You have to stick to your own boundaries to make them become a reality!

Work can wait. Work will wait. People will still be there in 3 days…and if they aren’t, it’s probably not work worth pursuing anyway.

So, batch your days. Use a timer to stay focused. Make a list. Automate or eliminate what you can, and delegate every task that isn’t essential for you to do, if possible. Hold yourself to a reasonable standard for YOUR life and YOUR schedule, not someone else’s. Remember—it’s your business; you can make the rules. (We’re all just figuring it out as we go anyway.)

Pin this for later!
